The safety performance of your car is naturally extremely important, both for yourself and your family. This is particularly important in relation to smaller cars, since safety standards
vary a great deal within this group of vehicles. The risk of death or serious injury in a small car with the lowest safety standard is six times that of the risk associated with travel in the safest small car.
“Today, about one-third of all new cars are of a five-star safety standard. I don’t think there is any reason to buy anything other than one of the safest cars” says Anders Li, car safety expert at the Swedish Department of Transport.
